Bat Boy and I got up early to knock out a quick 2 miles to get to Timberline Lodge for the breakfast buffet. We ran into a couple other hikers, Buffalo Bill and Frosty, and ate with them. We gorged ourselves on pretty much every breakfast food you could imagine…except for bacon. I’m not sure how not having bacon is even possible, but we thoroughly enjoyed the meal anyways.
We got back on trail after breakfast and covered another 10 miles before camping for the night. Bat Boy’s feet began to ache a few miles before the end so we took several breaks late in the day. He struggled with his feet way back in the desert and we know it’s just a matter of getting used to hiking again. Camp for tonight was next to a gurgling creek that somehow was almost mosquito free.
