PCT: Day 44

Today started with something we’ve hardly seen in the last month, clouds! It was marvelous.  The trail climbed steadily through the typical desert landscape we’ve become accustomed to before passing into a pine stand.  We had lunch among the pines before descending for much of the rest of the day.

We stopped at a fire station late in the afternoon to fill up on water for the upcoming 16 mile water carry.  We went ahead and cooked dinner there as well to lessen the water carry.  We ran into Viking while there.  After eating dinner we hiked another two miles before setting up to cowboy camp under trees.
