PCT: Day 31

We woke up to the coldest morning yet. All of our water bottles were frozen solid, and it was pretty unpleasant outside the tents. We waited until the sun hit camp to get moving. Today’s plan was to cover 17 miles to position ourselves for an easy morning hike into Deep Creek Hot Springs tomorrow. Like yesterday, today would be mostly downhill.

Things went smoothly the first 15 miles or so, but the last 2.5 miles were a slow, mostly uphill grind in the fading light. Tears may have been shed along the way as the sun set. We got to camp just as it got completely dark and quickly cooked dinner, setup tents, and went to bed.

  1. That looks like how I remember southern California in the 50’s when I was a kid. Maybe you will find some marbles that I lost as a kid! Happy Trails… Uncle Rich!
