PCT: Day 28

Since today is a Sunday we figured there was no chance Bat Boy’s pack was showing up.  Instead of taking another zero we decided to slack pack the next 11 miles of trail.  For us this just meant we did a day hike with light packs.  This would let us continue to progress along the trail despite not having Bat Boy’s new pack.  Kenny dropped us off where we stopped previously, and we hiked 11 PCT miles plus another 3 miles on a side trail to get to a parking lot where Kenny picked us up.

The hike was fairly easy, and not just because we were carrying light packs.  The weather was perfectly cool, the trail shaded, and the climbs small.  We made quick work of the hike and got back to Kenny’s Place in time to help make dinner.  Quite a few hikers had shown up while we were gone including Cuz and AKA.  Waterboy and Blue Lizard made salad and got started on spaghetti while Kenny continued to shuttle hikers around town.  We went to bed hoping Bat Boy’s pack would finally show up tomorrow.  The time off has been great but we’re itching to get back on trail.
