PCT: Day 21

We got up early this morning and were on trail by 6:30 to try to get ahead of the heat. The trail started with an easy uphill along the Whitewater River before climbing over the next few miles and then dropping to Mission Creek. Siesta time today was improved by actual shade trees and running water. Bat Boy played in the creek most of the break while everyone else rested.

We left the break excited to be hiking along Mission Creek for the next several miles. Some if us soon changed our minds as the trail had been washed out in several places, and we ended up climbing in and out of the Creek bed trying to connect the broken ends of the trail. Despite the struggles we did have shade most of the time so heat was never an issue. We rolled into camp a little earlier than usual and had plenty of time to cook, drink hot chocolate we got from Lucky Charm, and play games before bed.
