We got a relatively early start today as we were planning our biggest day yet which would cover 15 miles with over 3000ft of climb. We leap frogged other hikers throughout the day and enjoyed incredible views along the way. Everyone seems to be getting their trail legs at this point. The miles went by faster, the climbs were easier, and we had the energy to hike into the evening to take advantage of the lengthening days. Somewhere along the way Angela accepted her trail name and Blue Lizard was born.
We ended the day at Mike’s Place with Mom Cut and AKA. The place was, interesting, to say the least. We were the only ones there other than Mom Cut and AKA, and we all spent some time debating whether to stay considering the eerie abandoned feeling the place had. We were all too tired and cold to care too much and set up in a cold, howling wind and huddled on the porch to eat. There was a storm moving in the following day which was again forecast to have rain, snow, and lots of wind. We went to bed undecided on whether to ride out the storm at Mike’s Place tomorrow or to continue and try to get to lower elevation before it hit.

Waterboy, how did Blue Lizard get her name? Looked like she was carrying the biggest load! Go Blue Lizard!
Do you have a way to get your pickup addresses to us? We would like to send so goodies (low Weight) to you from time to time. Wow 15 miles! Amazing!

So Waterboy, Blue Lizard, Batboy and Rock Hopper, how many games have you played in the desert?
Please forward future addresses so we can mail goodies to you along the way with the dates you may arrive. Had frost in STl last night but 60 today. Glad things are going so well!
