We spent this week wrapping things up at work and at home. I officially started a 7 month leave of absence from work which still hasn’t really sunk in. Angela shipped our 2nd set of resupply boxes and dropped off another 5 sets with her good friend Jayne who will be shipping them to us as we go. Our house is probably cleaner than it’s ever been, the van is overloaded with gear and even more boxes of food, and we’re all looking forward to being done with the prep work.
Up next is getting to the trail which will be an adventure of its own. We’re starting with a drive to Portland to drop off our dog and van (and of course more food boxes) with our good friends Matt and Jessi. We’ll stay with them for a couple days before renting a car to drive to San Diego. From there we’ll take a 2hr bus ride to Campo, CA to start the hike.
