Doing Time

And, we’re back to posting.  We got distracted by a busy summer and will try to get caught up.  Picking up where we left off starts with us spending a day in jail.  So, we spent a day in jail..  No, really, we did.  Andrew worked from the hotel before we headed to Alcatraz Island.  The trip started with a quick 20-minute ferry ride to the island.

When we arrived on the island, there was a quick orientation by a park ranger. After that, we were able to explore the island at our own pace. We all chose to do the audiotour, which gave us a detailed look into the daily alives of the prisoners and staff.  We explored the grounds, which included adorable baby seagulls, before heading back to the ferry.

Once we got back on land, we headed for a quick dinner followed by a fun dessert of giant ice cream sandwiches before heading back to the hotel.
