Andrew stayed at the hotel to work while Angela and the kids went to the San Francisco zoo. Gavin has a love for animals, and we’ve been on a quest to visit as many zoos as possible. After visiting so many zoos and writing this post a couple of weeks later, Gareth says he has no memory of this place. Everyone liked the fairy houses, which were built into the landscaping throughout the zoo. The kids loved the playground, and Angela loved the double-waddled cassowary. Gavin would like to mention that it is the 3rd tallest bird in the world at 5-6 feet tall. Gavin also enjoyed the large amount of Pipevine Swallowtail Butterfly caterpillars.
Angela didn’t feel great after the zoo and napped in the afternoon before we headed out to the 3rd and final Lord of the Rings showing. Parking was a little more complicated tonight as our van with a roof box isn’t exactly parking garage friendly, but we managed to find a spot with time to spare. As a surprise to no one, we had more popcorn and Icee’s.
