We had planned on doing more sections as a family after Cascade Locks, but between logistics and an outbreak of forest fires we never had a great opportunity to get back out together. Blue Lizard and I both did some smaller sections which I’ll post about later. Despite not finishing the trail we all had a great time and don’t consider this a failure as the trip was always more about the experience than the endpoint. We all want to come back to get more miles, but it just won’t be this year.
This doesn’t mean the fun is ending. Matt and Jessi have been awesome and somehow don’t seem to mind us living with them for another month. We’re transitioning the trip from a hiking trip to a camping and National Park trip to fill in the time before we head home. I’ll be posting updates of that as well as some PCT summaries.
