Today is a planned short day as we have to descend to Cottonwood Pass campground to pick up a resupply and then regain elevation with a full food load. We camped with General last night and plan on meeting up with him again at Chicken Spring Lake tonight. He doesn’t have to stop for a resupply and goes straight to the lake.
We pickup our resupply and eat lunch before climbing back to the PCT. It’s a slow climb up, but we still get to camp early and have plenty of time to relax. General is already there and is setup next to two nice empty sites that we grab. After setting up Rockhopper takes off into a boulder field to circle the lake which takes a solid half hour. Bat Boy and Waterboy pull out the fishing pole they’ve added to their pack weight, but come up empty handed as there doesn’t seem to be a single fish in the lake. We’ll pass dozens of lakes and streams in the next couple weeks which are chock-full of trout so we aren’t concerned with striking out tonight.

Looks amazing!
