PCT: Day 79

We wake up to one of the colder mornings we’ve had lately.  The moisture from our breath had condensed into a thin sheet of ice coating our tent ceilings.  We take our time getting moving until the sun breaks through the trees and instantly warms things.  Everyone gets out of the tents refreshed and excited to be out of the desert and in the mountains.

The hike today, and this will come as a huge surprise, involves a bunch of uphill. Getting into the Sierra isn’t free, but we’re happy to pay the toll of tired legs to get into the mountains. We end the day a couple miles earlier than planned when we find a perfect looking campsite with flat ground and lots of boulders for the kids to climb.
