PCT: Day 66

We caught an early ride with a trail angel, Amy, partly to get an early start and partly to avoid another bumpy bus ride. We were on trail at Walker Pass a little after 8am. The trail immediately climbs up desert hills, again, but we’re comforted knowing we’re only 50 miles from the Sierra and the end of the desert. As with the last few weeks, the goal for today is to get to the next water source, this time 17 miles away.

We move slowly today, shaking off the rust of a double zero, but make it to water and camp just as the sun is setting. Everyone else had the same idea, and flat campsites were all but gone. There was one cramped site remaining which just fit the Triplex so it would be another night stuffed into a single tent.
