PCT: Day 61

We wake to sunny skies and lighter winds. We have 10 miles to cover to the next water source. It’s easy at first but the last few miles get hot and arduous. Luckily the water source has great shade and we siesta for a couple hours. We aren’t in a hurry to get moving again as the next water is now 19 miles away which will be our new heaviest carry.

We cover another 4 miles after the siesta, ending at the last campsites we know of for the next several miles. There have also been reports of a bull charging hikers further ahead so camping before that seems to make sense. We cowboy camp again and decide the best course of action for tomorrow is a 4am wake-up since we’re still 15 miles and a lot of climb from the next water.
