We woke early and knocked the first part of the hike out by noon, arriving at a water spigot near the Green Valley fire station. General was waiting for us when we got there. After a long lunch and a siesta we headed out again.
The trail climbed initially before descending over the next several miles to camp. Blue Lizard walked with FJ for a while, discussing South Dakota, where FJ is from, and life on the trail with kids. We arrived at camp late in the afternoon to find General had once again grabbed an excellent site for us. We went to refill water at a nearby cache and were treated with cookies, and later with cold Dr. Pepper, General’s favorite.

Love the flowers. Do you know what they are?
